The Two-Stage Selection Process for the NTSE Scholarship consists of Stage I and Stage II. In Stage I, selection is carried out by States/UTs through a Written Exam. Students who qualify Stage I are eligible to appear in Stage II, which is conducted by NCERT.
For Stage II, there is a quota allocated to each State and Union Territory, determined based on student enrollment at the secondary level. The qualifying marks for candidates from the General Category are 40% in each paper, while candidates from SC, ST, and PH categories need to score 32% in each paper.
